The "absolute nullity" crisis, which has occupied the top spot on the agenda in recent days, is undoubtedly a development that must be viewed as the final stage of the ruling bloc's policies of "de-electionisation". On the other hand, this process, variations of which are observed worldwide, did not begin today in the sense of removing political decisions from the popular will and transferring them to "expert boards", "independent institutions", and "judicial review mechanisms". When considering realities such as the presentation of the economy as a technical expertise detached from debates on social benefit and distribution, the transformation of politics into a professional occupation, the nullification of the popular will and parliamentary oversight in almost every field through the logic of "supreme boards", and the continuity of the "deep state" and Gladio organisations—which were debated more in the 1990s and manifest themselves once again in every development—it can comfortably be said that the "neoliberal counter-revolution" itself signifies a prolonged period of "de-electionisation" (depoliticisation).
What is being experienced today in our country, as well as in many other geographies, must be understood as a new dimension of this long counter-revolutionary process, when evaluated through the necessity of fully integrating national economies into global commodity chains within international imperialist dependency relations. This occurs in a historical period where global energy, logistics, and technology wars are taking on hot forms ahead of an approaching major conflict. In this period, states now code even the remnants of democratic negotiation processes as a "cost" and a "security risk" under the conditions of the coming war. Therefore, it is a vital necessity to look beyond current developments and even short-term political configurations.
The global war, in which different tools and fronts emerge every day, is a struggle for the control of technology production—especially artificial intelligence—as well as rare earth elements and energy raw material resources. China threatens the military-industrial production of the USA by establishing dominance in the trade of 17 groups of rare earth elements that are critical for the defence industry and advanced technology. The colossal energy and mineral requirements needed to reach artificial intelligence "singularity" turn these resources into the "fuel of the AI race". It is observed that the winner of this great race will establish a new hegemony, and traditional diplomatic tools have become dysfunctional.
The decision of "absolute nullity" regarding the CHP is not merely a legal debate or the pragmatic steps of a government trying to extend its lifespan; it is a part of the restructuring process of Türkiye's capitalism, centred on logistics, energy, and mining. By being situated at the centre of strategic lines, Türkiye is being positioned to become a regional logistics hub in global supply chains. In this process, shaped by global capital flows and geopolitical balances of power, the state apparatus—in harmony with almost all fractions of capital—promotes the preservation of the current ruling structure and the suppression of "dissenting voices" as a strategic choice until specific economic and political relations become established. In this context, designing the main opposition through judicial means aims to weaken its capacity to be an alternative to the government and to prevent social reactions from meeting on a common ground.
To this end, for capital preparing for regional or global conflicts, the reorganisation of the labour force at low costs and the control of social objections are also of vital importance. The systematic strike bans implemented in Turkey, flexible working arrangements, and the creation of a cheap labour reserve at a childhood age through projects like MESEM (Vocational Training Centre) represent the adaptation of the "inner front" to the war economy.
Viewing the matter from this dimension leaves no room for any question marks or confusion regarding the main axis of the struggle that must be waged. Our energy resources, our mines, our natural assets, our labour, and even the childhood of our children have become the front line of imperialist wars and must absolutely be defended.
